“Buick Riviera” directed by Croatian Goran Rusinovic, this year’s winner of Sarajevo’s Heart of Sarajevo Award is certainly interesting piece of work (it is produced by Propeler Film www.propelerfilm.com). In a way it’s a classic art house film ed with terrific crew Slavko Stimac and Leon Lucev - the winners of A Best Actors Award.
Visual effects of the film are wonderful, as well as inward psychological game. “Buic Riviera” is a film about two immigrants of different ethnic groups from Bosnia. One night on snowy USA road, they meet and spend next 24 hours embarking on a psychological game of mutual accusation which will change their life. This one night represents the civil war in Bosnia as well as difficult post war situation that arouses many questions.
